I’m surprised the business plan of offering cheap flights to the US by forcing people to change on some godforsaken volcano in the middle of the Atlantic has struggled.
It’s already pretty cheap to fly to the US, what would you save by adding 4 or 5 hours to your journey either way a few hundred?

Whoever certified it in the first place surely has questions to answer?
boeing certified it and told the FAA its hunky dory. the FAA doesn’t have the bodies to properly certify and so are reliant on boeing
