Dela scored an own goal as a left back for St. Michael’s under 13’s in a 2-3 Tipperary Cup final loss to Clonmel Town and I think that was the end of his playing career.

Dela wouldn’t have been cut out for a top level playing career. His benevolent nature and desire to please was more suitable for the football administration sphere.
