Ballon D'Or 2011

And there ends Stephanie Roche’s 15 minutes of fame…

#22

Vindication for Ivan Yates.

Poor Stephanie, or rather the media frenzy around her, has been mugged off good and proper.

#23

No need for the schadenfreude, chaps. It was a fantastic goal and she seems like a nice lass. I haven’t seen anyone flick the ball over Laura Heffernan’s and crack a volley past Mary Rose Kelly like that before or since.

#24

Well deserved Ronaldo. Now to find who voted for who.

Hodgson going for Mascherano sticking out like a sore thumb at the moment. He didn’t vote for Ronaldo or Messi.

No Suarez nomination diminishes the bona fides of this competition and reduces its importance to any right thinking football man.

It would have left a bad taste to nominate. Suarez is like Cantona. An EPL legend but struggles to impose himself in the big leagues of Europe.

Big leagues of europe. Sure why would he bother when hes imposed himself on 2 world cups and a copa america
Well deserved Ronaldo.
Was it?

The emphasis in a World Cup year should overwhelmingly be on the World Cup. Neuer should have got it.

Ronaldo had zero impact at the World Cup. He had negligible impact in the European Cup Final too and Real finished 3rd in what is supposedly a 2 team league.

A goalkeeper is not a footballer.
