Ballon D'Or 2016

In the footstep of Stanley Matthews, the first winner of the European Footballer of the year (before it was besmirched by being allowed to only be essentially won by goalscorers), Christiano Ronaldo picked up his third of the last four Ballon D’Ors, and his fourth overall, cementing his place as the greatest European footballer of all time. Bereft of his supporting cast, Messi once relegated to an also ran, on the club and national stage.

When the going got tough, and the tough got going, Ronaldo got it gone and the little man retired…

A sham. Suarez was better than both this year and is the best player in the world by a distance.

Real Madrid won the CL, mate… and Portugal minus Ronaldo won the Euro cup -

He was shit in the Champions League Final and his injury allowed for a more collective defensive effort against France which helped then to win the Euros

Messi got the most goals and assists in 2016 BTW. I would have given it to Griezmann myself as he scored some big goals against good teams in the Euros and the Champions League

Rooney’s Thomas Muller in 2nd vote is one of the stranger ones on there
