Chris Chataway was the first winner of the famous old trophy in 1954, but you feel Andy found it difficult to chat away in front of the camera there.

In truth there were several nominees who would have been more than worthy of the award. An incredible standard.
Chris Froome didn’t even make the podium either. Sir Bradley Wiggins won it last year essentially on the back of the same prize that Froome won this year. Froome had a lot to do with Sir Bradley winning it as well last year.
Andy is a worthy winner.
Good old BBC, they do throw it around the weaker provinces. It has been won by a nordie, a scot and a welshman in recent years while a Somalian and a Kenyan had a good cut at it this year.
