I see newly crowned Lakeside World Champion Scotty Waites averaged 34.16 per dart for Yorkshire against Essex last weekend.
Many congratulations to Deta and Tony on their well deserved awards.

<blockquote class="ipsBlockquote]
LAKESIDE 2014 BIGGER AND BETTER
<div style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif;font-size:13px;]The 2014 Lakeside World Professional Darts Championships will be played from Saturday, January 4th to Sunday, January 12th, 2014 and will be bigger and better than ever! The largest ever field of 40 Men and 16 Women will be competing for the most prestigious titles in World Darts.
The first three World Professional Championships from 1978 to 1980 were contested by just 16 Men, but from 1981 to 2013 the field was increased to 32 Men. The Womenâs World Championship was introduced by the BDO in 2001 and has always been contested by 8 Women. Now it is being increased to 16 Women from the 2014 Lakeside World Professional onwards.
âThis is a significant, exciting and progressive step forwardâ, says BDO Tournament Director Wayne Williams. "Not only does it illustrate the global increase in the higher standards of BDO and WDF players, but it also satisfies the growing TV audiences created by TV coverage from BBC, ESPN and Europsort.
âNeedless to say, we are delighted to be providing even more valuable opportunities for our players - men and women - as we move the BDO forward and enhance the most prestigious Championships in world dartsâ.
The additional 8 Men for the 2014 World Pro will earn their places from competition within the worldwide regions of the WDF: Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, Asia, Baltic & Scandinavia and the USA. All have regional ranking tables which are accessible on the BDO website by click on the Tables drop-down menu.
The remaining 32 players will come from the BDO Invitational Table, the World Professional International Play-Offs and include the Winmau World Masters Champion if not already qualified.
The 16 Women will come from the BDO Invitation Table, the World Professional International Play-Offs and include the Winmau World Masters Champion if not already Qualified.
The BBC contract for the BDO Lakeside World Professional Darts Championships has been extended by three years up to and including 2016.[/quote]
Sincere best wishes from all TFK/BDO affiliates to pdc dirctor Tommy Cox, victim of a recent heart attack.
I welcome the announcement by the BDO of a formal investigation by the board into Martin Fitzmauriceâs conduct at the BDO British Internationals last weekend.
Iâve seen the video and, while I think the âmonkeyâ and âPakiâ comments / âjokesâ are totally inappropriate, Iâm sure the investigation will conclude that this was a momentary lapse by Martin.
Martin Fitzmaurice is not a racist.
A sad day for all in darts with the news that the greatest MC of them all, Martin Fitzmaurice, has decided to hang up his mike.
Martin is a man who has done so much in spreading the gospel of darts around the world.
I guess you could call him a darting missionary.
But he was a voice of tradition in the ever-changing, dynamic world of top level darts.
Lakeside 2014 wonât be quite the same without his introductions, but Iâve no doubt young Marco Meijer would do a splendid job if asked to replace him.
Rob Walker and Anthony Dundass are other strong contenders and thereâs always that chap who does the Dutch Open, who is excellent.
So thereâs no shortage of MCing talent in the BDO, and that in many ways is Martinâs proudest legacy - heâs inspired a new generation of BDO MCs and referees.
Thank you so much. Martin, you will be missed.
Did the old racist get the boot?
I trust this has nothing to do with last weekendâs events.
Farewell my dear Martin - youâll never be forgotten but letâs continue to play darts.
They will probably replace him with Jim Davidson. A scummy organisation that appeals to very worst of the little Englander mentality.
Iâve reported your post, Sandymount.
While Iâm pleased to see that pdc director Tommy Cox has recovered from his recent heart attack, this is a horrible, racist tweet and the pdc need to take immediate action against him. You simply wouldnât see racism like this in the BDO.

Whatâs black and eats bananas? Half of London
Whatâs the difference between ET and a Paki? ET went home.
They are the gags that fat old cunt Fitzmaurice was entertaining the pond life of the BDO with.

Those remarks were blatantly twisted and taken out of context. Nobody has done more for darts amongst minority communities than Martin Fitzmaurice.
And how could he be a racist? His record collection features classics from the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis, John Lee Hooker, Bob Marley, Cleopatra (cominâ atcha) and So Solid Crew. Yeah, thereâs your âracistâ.
UK Open starting on Sky tonight.
BDO qualifier Robbie Green has just lost his round 1 match against James Wade on a scoreline of 5-2.

Wins for Stephen Bunting and Gary Stone.
Seeds dropping like flies. Winstanley gone early too.
Ted Hankey also back in the winnerâs circle and I know thatâs something all darts fans will be happy about.

The world 3-dart average record holder is obviously still recovering from the celebrations after winning the Welsh Classic Pairs title with Sparky Harms at the weekend.
Great win for Jan Dekker this evening as he beat world champion Scott Waites 6-3 in the final of the BDO International Open at the famed Brean Sands venue.
Surprised not to see any mention of the 9-darter in the mixed pairs last night. Unbelievable strength in depth in our organisation.
