Beekend Wetting

Interesting weekend of action in the EPL on the betting front.

Stoke 12/5 v Man City 13/10

A lot have tipped up City as being the bet of the weekend. The price is pretty tempting. However Stoke have put it up to the best sides in the EPL at home and even in a bad run of form can be expected to create a dogfight today. City have yet to prove this season that they can eke out wins on the road so I will stay clear.

Arsenal 1/2 v West Ham 13/2

Both teams in very good form and a fine game awaits. Fancy Arsenal to win but certainly not worth betting on.

Aston Villa 8/11 v Wigan 5/1

Villa come into this game in winning mode and on the scent of the leaders. Wigan are after selling Palacios and Heskey while Valencia and Kirkland are injured. Even with a host of players unavailable Villa should have enough to dispose of Wigan. Cant believe we are as high as 8/11. I’ll stick with my mantra tho of not betting for or against my team.

Bolton 9/5 v Tottenham 17/10

Megson had a rant at his fans during the week so the atmosphere could be a little edgy at the Reebok this afternoon. Are Tottenham good enough to take advantage. Not for me. Jermaine Defoe is injured and Harry Redknapp aint got a clue what his best side is. Saw Spurs at Wigan a few weeks back and if they produce a performance similar they will be beaten.

Fulham evs v Pompey 31/10

Both teams in need of a win and are struggling for goals. Has draw written all over it

Hull 5/4 v West Brom 11/4

Watched Hull during the week at West Ham. It was one of the worst performances I have ever seen from an EPL side. Phil ‘Sunbed’ Brown may expect a bit of a response today but I think 11/4 is far too big for West Brom. My NAP of the week is a safer one. Lay Hull @ 4/5 on BF

Middlesboro v Blackburn - who cares. No bet

Man Utd 2/5 v Everton 11/1

Dont expect Everton to roll over but are missing Cahill and Feillaini. Utd are in cruise control at the moment. Ladbrokes go 11/10 that Utd win to nil while PP go 11/5 for Utd to win both halves. Both worth a few shekels

Newcastle 13/8 v Sunderland 19/10

Newcastle are in complete freefall at the moment. Think there will be a fair amount of goals in this one. A 2-2 draw is about 16/1 and worth a fiver. PP have it priced at 11/1 the tight cunts.

Liverpool 6/4 v Chelsea 9/4

Neither team fully convincing at the moment. The game needs an early goal or else this could turn into a predictable snore fest. First goal will win the game I reckon. No bet

The championship is as unpredictable as always. The one that stands out is Swansea 13/10 away at Southampton. Reading are 17/10 to win at QPR which is a fair price given QPR have been playing well of late. Might head along to that game.

The Old Firm double pays at about 4/5.

Old firm draw pays 20/1 - worth a small bet after midweek exertions

Thurles Today 4.35pm Beginners Chase 3 miles ive good word for Forgivememaria trained by T O Leary,Davy Russell is on it,first time blinkers might be a slight worry but im having a go each way should be around 10/1.

Decent shout Link, never looked like winning but a decent second anyway so hope you took the each way price

Beekend Wetting was funny the first time.

Had a nice bit on each way,its better than nothing anyway, did you have a go?

Threw a few bob on each way. Nothing too hefty. Cheers all the same though.

old firm?

Yep, Old Firm, thats what I typed

hate that term - i wouldnt trust any Celtic fan who used that term

What about someone who’s not really a Celtic fan but jumps on the bandwagon if its an excuse for a piss up after beating a crowd of Hun cunts?

they need to know that a lot of celtic fans hate the term for future reference

You were happy to acknowledge it here though
VILLA boss Martin ONeill is set to make a shock swoop for Celtics former Wolves full-back Lee Naylor as he seeks to provide cover for Dutch international Wilfred Bouma.

And former Celtic favourite Shaun Maloney appears close to a return to his former club after becoming unsettled at Villa Park.

Naylor, 28, enjoyed a superb first season at Parkhead but struggled for form last season as Gordon Strachans side made it three titles in a row.

With just one year remaining on his contract he has decided to give the Premier League a second go following his experience with Dave Jones bottom-placed side in 2003/04.

Naylor would become ONeills third signing from his former club, following Maloney 18 months ago and the arrival of Stiliyan Petrov two years ago, although he also took Chris Sutton and Didier Agathe on short-term deals.

Maloney has been courted by both Old Firm clubs, as well as Sunderland, but it appears Celtic have the edge.

Naylor made 334 appearances for Wolves in nine years and quickly established himself as a first-team regular

Capped at under-21 level for England, he was named on the shortlist for the Scottish Professional Footballers Associations Player of The Year award in 2006/07.

Naylor will no doubt see a move to Villa as the chance to get back on track and push for international recognition.
