Best Carveries in Dublin

You need to know how to play him.

The Portobello pub did one when I was there last about 3 years ago. It was grand.

I think the Barge does one as well but not familiar with it.

Cheers, might take a trot down canalside so.

Francis Brennan said last night that the Carvery is a big risk for a business. You could lose your shirt on it he reckoned.

did Frances expand on this treaty??

He did, he said it’s a big risk purchasing and cooking a roast of beef and a crown of turkey and potentially throwing them in the bin if you don’t get customers. He said you’d want a guaranteed walk-in trade of 40 to 50 customers a day. He also said it’s hard to control portion size.

Steer clear of the Portobello anyway, mate. D2 is the best of the lot provided the Asian guy is behind the counter.

There used to be a decent one in the camden court hotel as well believe it ir not

I see, could they direct some of the beef, turkey to the old salad\sandwich section the following day?

So which is the way to go, off the menu or carvery?

schoolhouse bar in swords is very popular for grub

Still there, was there for two days training recently, it was passable. cc @artfoley

Does O’Briens on Leeson St do a carvery? Noble pints anyway.

He reckoned a small a la carte menu done well.

It wasn’t a treaty as such. Just an opinion of his
