This is a debate which arises more times than I’d like to think. Usually the candidates are Iskanders or Zaytoons. Personally I always go for Iskanders. To test out whether I actually like them or not I actually went in there for dinner one evening before hitting the town to see if the taste good without 15 pints in me. The answer was yes. They are gorgeous. I cannot think of any other places that do kebabs as good as these places, is anyone aware of any place up to the standard?
Where is this place Iskanders?
Dame street, just across the road from Central Bank.
Is Momos any good?
Istanbul Express on Baggot Street.
They have unbarred me so it’s back in my good books.
zaytoons is pretty great for the kebabs itself, but the fries are scheidt, so what are iskadavers fries like?
Zaytoon for me as well. Recently puked after an Iskanders.
Turkish kebab place in the Epicurean food hall - superb…

Where’s the Epicurean food hall?
Junction of Liffey Street and Abbey Street. Just at the back of the Lotts pub.
Middle Abbey Street
Not opened at night as far as I know though but a great place for lunch…
Generally get rice instead of the naan bread as it is less messy…
I’m much more of a fan for Naan instead of rice, I like egg fried rice with a nice hot vindaloo or Thai curry, wouldn’t have it with Middle Eastern grub
Egg fried rice with a vindaloo? Odd. I’d usually go for the pilau myself.
Munchy wunched two kebabs this weekend just gone. And for the first time ever didnt actually eat them in the place I bought them. No prizes for guessing which kebab place I went too.
Abrakebabra is mank
Abrakebabra is usually mank. However they do produce one of the finest gourmet offerings in our fair city- the Taco kebab. A sumptuos mix of spicy mince, lettuce and special goo stuffed in a pitta. It passes the sober test too. Portmarnock’s branch sells ones of unusually high quality, god bless them.
I like their Honey Chicken wraps, that’s about as far as I’ll veture into the Abrakebra menu.
Their taco chips are good. It was class when they had the two for one offer.
