Betfair World Cup Of Darts

The action is under way at the Alsterdorfer Sporthalle in Hamburg. Defending champions England return with last year’s winning duo Phil Taylor and Adrian Lewis and are worthy favourites. The Dutch look very strong with Van Gerwen and Barney, while Australia (Whitlock & Nicholson) and Scotland (Anderson & Thornton) should have a good shout.

Republic of Ireland are seeded 8 with Limerick duo Willie O’Connor and Connie Finnan representing. They are in a group with Denmark and South Africa, the Danes have just defeated the South Africans 5-4. Earlier on the Huybrecht brothers Kim and Ronny combined for Belgium to smash Hungary 5-0.

Here’s the draw…

The Limerick lads beat Denmark 5-0 to qualify for the 1/4 finals with a game in hand

Some serious banter at this tournament I’d imagine. England v Scotland would be a great game the way they’re having pops at each other.

What channel is it on pals?

SS3 great to see you tuning in pal. You won’t regret it.

Ireland will play Japan in the last 16 tonight.

Croatia defeat Norn Irlin 5-4 in a stunning upset to advance to the 1/4 finals. Brendan Dolan had a shocker.

An out of sorts Ireland deservedly beaten 5-3 by Japan. The limerick lads will be upset at how poorly they played :frowning:

And the shocks continue in Hamburg as the wonderful Huybrechts brothers lead Belgium to a 5-1 romp over Australia.

An incredible night in Hamburg, Scotland beaten 5-4 by Spain and the Netherlands sensationally beaten 5-3 by Finland.

Thats hilarious. So a couple of japanese tourist s beat the pride of limerick/ireland.

England struggled to beat Japan 2-1 and will face Wales in the semis. Belgium face the surprise package Finland in the other semi.

The best Irish players like Jason Cullen don’t compete in this.

England edge past Wales and face Belgium in the final.

Any sport that involves a sentence like that cannot be taken seriously.
