Biggest Gambling Win

If a Donegal win he just needs to pick up the phone to whoever he had the acca with. I’d imagine they will cash out no bother

Explain this to me please dan

Did you ever see deal or no deal?

Bookies will be hedging this bet for definite if it comes down to the last event. If it’s KK will cost them a fortune to hedge as they are favs. If he rings and offered (I haven’t done the sums so just for example) il take 100k now they would probably do a deal

I saw it a few times, thought thats what you meant but was unsure. Thanks for the input.

I was with a lad before who had three legs of a Yankee up, and had done an ew accum on the selections as well. Bfair sports rang him and tried to buy the dockets off him. We were pissed couldn’t figure out the best thing to do he cashed Yankee left accum ride. Made hangover lot worse when he realised his error the following day!

He should have cashed both and backed the last horse again on track it was about 12/1

£135 on a 67.5/1 five match accumulator in November 2000.

I stopped betting about a month after this as I found it a waste of time.

some bookies won’t pay out more than 100k when it involves GAA …

My biggest ROI was a 3 horse accumulator when I used to be getting great word from John Berry’s yard in the uk.
Got tips for two horses going in Wolverhampton. Backed them both singly and threw them into a treble with a horse I had word for running in Cork. It was a €20 treble and paid out close the €900. With the single bets I took around €1,200 for the evening.

Twice I’ve ended up getting very good lines into dodgy stables in the UK, had a line into a stable that was later implicated in the Fallon trial. Made great money (for me) over the course of about 3 months. Then the texts stopped coming and next I heard of the trainer was when the trial came around.

I punt very little these days.

My gambling strategy is relatively boring and usually with small stakes (€10 - €50) so wins are usually relatively small. Have won the guts of a grand or just under it a few times

  • £0.50 jackpot in Punchestown in 1997 paid £800 odd
  • Cinders and Ashes Supreme Novices win won me £900 odd (thanks @fenwaypark)
  • Colin Ryan for championshio

Were the initials KB by any chance? If they were, then we were both getting the same texts!

In recent times my biggest wins were Cinders and Ashes in the Supreme Novices and Colin Ryan for Hurling top scorer last year which both netted me close to a grand each - both thanks to TFK members. I won the jackpot in Punchestown when I was 14 and it paid close to £1000.

I don’t usually bet big so big winnings are rare enough. Half thought of setting up a thread on here to start with €100 and turn it into €1000 from now till Christmas with disciplined punting based on my own thoughts and TFK tips. The aim being to then grow it to €2000 by the end of Cheltenham / Punchestown. @Assumpta Gilhooley’s football tips would form an integral part of it.

Yes Mac, KB, think it was 2007.
That was a great summer.

:pint:

The biggest straight single bet I won was the £1000 (sterling) I got from backing Donegal to win the A/I back in 2012 when they were 9/1. Got the odds in june when they beat Tyrone in the Ulster Championship.

I almost went through the card one day at Newbury in 2010, think I had 6 winning bets out of 8, all single bets including laying Denman at 1/10 to be placed and McCoy went and unseated only for to get greedy and go in big on the last race. Ended with a nice few quid but more importantly learned a valuable lesson to quit while I was ahead

€1,100 on Stephen Donnelly to win a seat in Wicklow.

€840 for a €10 bet on an enhanced double in Ladbrokes backing the field against the top 3 in the betting in two races in the UK. There was snow in the uk and the courses were like swamps.
The bird behind the counter looked at me in awe when I strolled up to collect.

There were 2 horses in an evening meeting in Windsor with Miami in their name, I backed the wrong one €10 e/w, he hosed in at 66/1.

950 on Michael D Higgins getting the presidency. Put it on the evening before the debate that ended Sean Gallagher s challenge.

Not a big win but i had a phenominal run a few years back on a saturday, Ascot. backed les arcs 10 e/w at 33/1 and he hosed in. Then young mick at a at around 28/1 with a tenner e/w an hour later. Still cursing that i didnt double up

Mon Mome in The National, 5 e/w @ 100/1 was a nice touch.
