There’s still a few companies essentially running support helpdesks through it, think Bank of Ireland are one. Would have been a lot more previously.
Some of the sub forums are excellent if you are interested in a particular topic, it wouldn’t suit the lads on here as it a serious place
A great farming section over there. The lads guided me through my first grant application once upon a time.
Vodafone used to be anyhow. I could be wrong but I think they used to charge around €8,000 for a corporate account, regardless of size or turnover.
Not sure if they still do it, but they used to have a forum where you could post and a company could reply officially. A handy way of positive online PR
Hah, I tried to do that with a company I worked for about ten years ago and they got in contact to say it was allowed unless you paid them.
Still do, that’s what I was referring to. Bank of Ireland have their own forum on it.
Some lad somehow managed to sneak in a post about a Toyota avensis parts during the shutdown
He got 336 thanks for it too.
Oh man have boards.ie screwed up
This Vanilla crew are destroying any remaining value by the hour
Still not there. It sounds very very messy.
Emergency room status. At least they are not in ICU yet.
It’s bizarre and their excuses are barely credible.
The theme is hardly that complicated. It’s very vanilla if you’ll pardon the pun. Did they not test any of it before they went for the live migration?
And they had a rollback plan that they didn’t call on even though they’re 7 days into a 1-2 day migration.
And for some reason the old site needs to be read only because that’s going to affect the new site somehow?
They must be an incredibly thick crowd of gimps bollocksing around the place there.
Granted some of the mullocking @Rocko undertakes here doesn’t always go seamlessly whereupon he’ll be ringing me for directions but there’s always a result.
These must be Transition year lads on a training course. Ask a pig about Lanzarote time.
That’s true regarding the theme.
Surely they could have done a test migration with a sample of posts and made sure all worked?
Sounds like they’ve been very poorly advised and some sales guy sold them an “it’ll be grand” spiel.
The first mistake was putting a lad named Odhran in charge of anything
Swallows can migrate all the way to Africa every year and they dont have half these issues
They are doing a really expensive and complicated changeover to a new more modern platform but they want everything to look and feel exactly the same.
Sounds like something the public service here would do. I hope they have some financial penalties in the contract for this fuck up.
The role of a dedicated project manager is always under valued until shit like this happens. All avoidable. Highlighted the risks upfront.
Meanwhile I hear all IBM staff have no email (lotus notes) for the past 2 weeks. They sold Lotus notes to HCL India in 2019 so no surprise that things have gone pear shaped since. IBM says email issues to be resolved in a week - Times of India
