TheUlteriorMotive:
Only following in the tracks of the great man himself
A 2015 article in Variety claimed Dylan’s songs had already appeared more than 500 times in films and on television, a state of affairs that may have had something to do with the fact that Dylan himself, in contrast to some of his peers, was apparently highly amenable to their use.
Dylan has proved exceptionally open to what the music industry calls “fresh revenue streams”, not merely regularly flogging his songs to adverts – I Want You featured on a commercial for Greek yoghurt, Subterranean Homesick Blues on an ad for Google, Blowin’ in the Wind was repurposed for both the Co-op and a Budweiser commercial “starring an adorable dalmatian” – but actually appearing in them as well. In recent years, he’s shilled everything from Chrysler cars and Cadillac SUVs to Pepsi, iPods, IBM computers and Victoria’s Secret underwear.

I didn’t actually know that and was winding up to go off on a rant about capitalism. But I’m back in my box now.

Paul McLoone doing a retrospective on TodayFM for Bob’s 80th at 10pm Monday night
8 o clock tonight , should be worth a look .
Ronan Collins had a grand show there of songs written by Bob Dylan including a lovely version of I’ll be your baby tonight sung by Johnny McEvoy.

Someone in the Irish times ranked all his albums from 39th to best. It was a good article, a few surprising placing a personal to the writer which made it interesting.
I was listening to it myself.
While I like Ronan Collins’s show, I can’t take him seriously after that episode in the Irish snooker masters where he was MC and attempted to keep the crowd warmed up because Alex Higgins had gone AWOL.

Did Bob respond to Mickey?
Reminds me of that owl gag about heckler in the church.
Our first reading is from St Paul’s letter to the Corinthians.
Did the Corinthians ever write back?
