They can convert it to sterling and yes give you a gammy exchange rate. It will fuck up their tills leaving a negative balance they will more than likely try mug you off. I payout bets done in Cheltenham in Stirling and pay them in euro.
seriously cuntish behavior here
All bookies are cunts mate.
This is another good example, similar to the yerman in the post office in Wexford. Marry the lavish gifts they shower upon these super mugs with other punters that get heavily restricted once they begin to make any hint of a profit. I’d really enjoy someone taking a price discrimination action against a few of the bookies out of curiosity to see where you’d get. There is glaring hypocritical behaviour that needs to be properly addressed across the industry. Do bookies in Ireland have an ombudsman?
Are they open today?
Yes is the short answer
This really boils my blood. They won’t allow me a 1 euro on a horse but look at their profits. It’s a complete disgrace.
Take it as a compliment
Or fair play to her. I wonder how much tax JP paid in Ireland last year.
Ya she’s created an incredible business but it’s very unfair to close off wining customers. That isn’t bookmaking Fenway.
There’s no one selling their product to customers at a loss.
Bookmaking is gone now, it’s all quants and balancing risk. No one wants to take a position
Bookies will always restrict accounts like yours. When you bet at that level of racing, any winning bets that coincide with a big market move will get you restricted. If I was a bookie, id do the same. Bet in straighter races and it wont be an issue in the main.
If are going to stop people from loosing too much then they should guarantee a certain amount that they’ll lay.
A bookie never had to pay you out, legally. A betlslip wasn’t a binding contract.
If you put up the price it isn’t anybody else’s fault only there own.
I’d have a much bigger problem with that than closing winning accounts. To be winning at the horses you generally need to have insider info
But what do you expect them to do? Its the stake at those odds and the market move that gets you restricted. As I said its asymmetric information. If they believe you have an unfair advantage, they are going to restrict you. It would be stupid not to.
They closed me down and I wasnt even winning much. Ironically bet365 is the only one I’m not limited on as I used them to hedge a lot of lay bets.
I was backing horses that were flagged by their algorithms as i was using an algorithm to scalp odds and notice discrepancies. I gave up on gambling after
I’m not betting inside info. It’s my own work that takes ages.
