Bookies - adding an event is simple. Set up a new thread IN THIS FORUM ONLY. Below the option to add a poll you will see an option to “Add a Book to the Topic”
Click this and you’ll see Book Title. Here you should put in the title of the event obviously.
Next you need to put in the options in the left box and the odds (in decimal) in the right box. So to setup TFK v WTS you would put in something like
TFK 1.3
Draw 5.6
WTS 2.5
or whatever.
Then put in a Book Close Date and a Book Close Time. If you’re doing events that are in progress such as SPL 2010/11 make sure to close the bet before the next round of matches because you can’t change the odds without creating a new event. For actual matches obviously just close the event at the kickoff time.
You don’t need to worry about Book Type for the moment.
Note each match/event/tie/whatever needs its own thread. You can only have one winning outcome in each bet so you can’t put more than one match in each thread. That may be an option in future but at the moment that’s how it works.
I propose that Kev and Turenne haven’t the skills or experience to act as bookies. Mac for one needs to be drafted in for this. The likes of mickee would be a good bookeeper as well…
I backed a horse ante post today in my local pp. it runs on Saturday. If in the unlikely event it wins on Saturday can I collect my winnings in pp in chelteham ? Will I be paid in sterling ? And is there anyway they’ll mug me off if I’m able to be paid out in sterling over by giving me a Gammy exchange rate?
Don’t think you can get paid over there. I know a forumite who placed a large bet in Euro while in Cheltenham. He had to send the docket back over with someone a few weeks later. I believe they then paid the bet out in Sterling in error.
