Godshonesttruth:
The affordability checks in the UK are currently industry led and the legislation has yet be enacted. Therefore, your assertion on there being evidence is completely unfounded one way or the other, as the data is not there for your bould statement.
It is a fact here and in the UK, that many men have ended up betting fortunes with the likes of Powers and losing everything in some cases their lives at their own hands, because of unaffordable losses. The unscrupulous bookies never once questioned where the funds were coming from and took money off lads that hadnt got it to lose.
That you dumbass is why the affordability checks need to be introduced.
There is absolutely nothing to suggest affordability checks will help people with problem gambling.
Nothing.
This coming quick after your liquidity debacle.
The bookmakers can figure quickly whoâs winning too much they could do the same for losing too much.
Bookmakers should not be allowed bonuses like free bets. They shouldnât be linking virtuals or casino games either.
I wouldnât mind seeing the end of online betting being honest.

Of course affordability checks would reduce these issues. Lets take the case of the Wexford postman who stole âŹ1.75 million from An Post and lost it to Paddy Power. Whats steps did Power take to check if he could afford the losses?
This is just one sad case where an affordability check would have saved someone from betting more than they could afford to lose. There are 1,000s more less publiced cases. So, yes of course the affordability will reduce the number of problem gamblers. These are the types that Powers have milked to death, in some cases at the end of a rope.

Iâm not sure what point youâre trying to make here at all.
Under their current guise there is absolutely no evidence to suggest affordability checks are helping in these sort of cases.
They have banned credit card betting which was a 100 percent right thing to do obviously.

This needs a TFK Poll as to what people on here would do if in the punters shoes.
Hand the money back of course.

I wouldnât be an expert but I always felt Betfair destroyed horse racing and bookmaking.
Almost ironic but definitely hilarious it came to this.
Umpteen time in a row paddy power refusing to pay out bets due to my proof of address not being updated.

Interesting enough listen.
Not sure I agree with everything.
Barstewards podcast claiming bet 365 have software to work out how much they lay a customer after a 100 or so bets.
Amazing the gambling commission canât looking into anything like this.
What does âlay a customerâ mean?
He was a big doubt for the game hence the 10/11 odds ⌠the fuckers paying out at 1/50 is outrageous
