Bookmakers and general Money Laundering on the Dark Web

Who knows. William Hill and Boyles are a joke too and would be no loss to the market place. Whether we like it or not, Powers and to a lesser extent Ladbrokes are the best there is by some distance.

Bruce Betting are a fine firm for laying you a good bet.

Celtic will be badly missed - In fairness to them they never denied me a bet and I would have been on some dodgy stuff at times. I collected over 800 on the Rose of Tralee one year and they still continued to take my bets in the shop. I see Yates is blaming the recession but if you ask me their risk management system must have been close to non existant, in the shops at least. I know a fellah that was arbing BAGS dogs right there in front of them in the shop and they continued to take duece bets and the odd monkey when they knew the dogs were going to move. Incredible. They also had a special going up until a few months ago that if your horse came 2nd in the virtual racing you got your money back. if you only backed the 11/8 jolly and shorter prices it was a mathematical certainty that you would win money off them in the long run.

Dunph - I see you are dissing William Hill above. I presume thats online you are talking about. The Hills shop in Phibsboro arenā€™t shy about laying a bet at all.

Donā€™t get me started on SpoilSports though - a fucking joke. My last contact with them over the phone they denied me a ā‚¬100 bet on Liverpool to win at Goodison @ 6/4. They offered me 50 quid - I told

Iā€™d believe that, sure people only go in there for the tea and biscuits, soon enough theyā€™ll be out of them. Thatā€™ll be the finish of them.

Iā€™d nearly go as far as to say Boyles are the worst of the lot of them.

Bullshit - after 5 or 6 winning bets with them (some of relatively small sums) theyā€™ve moved my account to SP only. Granted I beat the price on every single bet but thatā€™s their problem

One of the lads just texted me to say he rang Boyles to have ā‚¬130 on Quantitativeasing in the 1.30 in Fontwell and was on hold for 5 mins waiting for the bet to be cleared. The horse was 8/11  theyā€™ll do well to make it as far as Cheltenham with that sort of carry on.

Not sure if this is common knowledge or what, but i hear Boyles are taking over a good few of the Celtic shopsā€¦

apparently they bought between 15 and 20 of them. Dont think the purchase price is public yet but its cheap considering what was paid for them

But wouldnā€™t Boyles be taking over the leases and paying rent much like Celtic were? Celtic didnā€™t really own any of these shops.

Boyles arenā€™t so broke after all I take it?

It would seem not, i thought they were too.

When Celtic set up a lot of the shops the average price for setting up a bookies office was about 500k. That was the price they paid Molloys as far as I remember. The price that Boyles will be paying will only be a fraction of that.

Northern Bank Notes apparently

What are Victor Chandler like to lay a bet? Iā€™ve been noticing that more often than not they are best price (and significantly so) on many outsiders in a race. Looking at the 6.35 in Tipperary tonight (12 horse race) for example, outside of the top two in the betting they are best price on the remaining 10 horses. Iā€™ll compare their current prices on these 10 to the ā€œgreat and imperiousā€ Paddy Powers prices on the same horses.

Kasanka - VC 13/2, PP 5/1
Solar Event - VC 18/1, PP 14/1
Cherokee Brave - VC 25/1, PP 14/1
Noble Call - VC 40/1, PP 25/1
Secretsubstitute - VC 50/1, PP 40/1
Gap of Dunloe - VC 33/1, PP 33/1
Minsk - VC 66/1, PP 33/1
Darika - VC 80/1, PP 40/1
Revolutionary Road - VC 66/1, PP 40/1
Mac Tigue VC - 66/1, PP 33/1

In fact of the 12 horses in the race, my research indicates that Powers are a better price on only Justification (4/1), Victor Chandler go 10/3 this horse.

They just want to stay onside of the jolly Iā€™d say Dunph. Get a few of the rags in the bag.

They are pretty much the same as other layers, donā€™t want to know winners. Mugs only.

Fair enough but theyā€™re offering far superior value than Powers if you fancied one of the outsiders. Powers and themselves both go 8/15 the fav in this race, so they arenā€™t losing face there eitherā€¦

Yeah they always push the rags in Ireland, probably right. Most of them would be bigger again on the exchanges.

2.5 yeah thats about right Iā€™d jump on the ground. Give me a steak there blumpo and Iā€™ll cash that in for a pineapple.

SS**, Flano, Shan or others in the knowā€¦ Have Powers expanded much into Australia and what is the nature of their expansion? Is it purely online based or will they be opening retail units?
