Jeff Hendrick was magnificent in the first half the other night. Intelligent, disciplined, athletic and tactically flexible - he reminds me of Claudio Marchisio.

He was my MOTM mate. Obviously Walters got the plaudits and Whelan world class but I thought the boy Hendricks was outstandingly

Big Sam told Sky pre-match he was playing 4-4-2 but then set them out in a 3-5-2 with O’Shea one of the centre backs. Van Aanholt was left wing back.
@Bandage is correct. Jones on the right, Coates, O’Shea & Kaboul across the centre and Van Aanholt on the left. Allardici was adamant beforehand he was playing 4-4-2 though

I’ve been banging the Jeff Hendrick drum for a while. I’d love to see him move away from English club football to join the likes of Atletico Madrid, Celtic or Milan. He’s such a fantastic and adaptable player.
