My papa was a massive fan of Charlie Nash and met him once, said he was an absolute gent.
Strange coincidence that probably the two most high profile boxers to come out of Derry City in the past 40 years both lost close relatives on Bloody Sunday.
Indeed Charlie Nash and John Duddy,the Ring club in Derry are a well run spot they put on great shows I boxed in the guild hall against them a couple of times,Charlie Jr was a top amateur but I never seen him at senior, no more than me self maybe the auld drink and girls got the better of him
