Bale had a better career than Neymar.
Unpopular opinion: Gareth Bale was a fucking great footballer. Probably the best British player since Jamaica’s John Barnes.
He was, just a part of an exceptional Real squad.
He made the difference for them. His international exploits are superb too.
One of the most frighteningly good goals I ever saw was a goal Bale got after about 89 minutes of a Monday night match away to West Ham around February 2013. The game was 2-2 and it looked like Spurs were dropping points in a competitive race for the also ran places. He sized up a defender, moved past him in slow motion and then hit a shot from about 25 yards outside the corner of the box that looked like a slow motion shot which was surely no threat until it got about eight yards from the goal where it suddenly became apparent that this was a netbreaker. It was and was the winner.
I’ve seen very few shots like that ever that deceive you into thinking they’re slow balls before they cannonball into the net, but I love them. Drogba got one against Everton, the famous dipper of a shot. They scare you, those goals.

Bale scored a wonderful v athletico I think around ten years ago. He ran down the left wing and was almost running outside the line but cut in and stuck it.
That was the one against Barcelona in the Spanish Cup final. 2014. Ridiculously good goal.
He had to run three yards outside the line in a loop.
