Brexit hub

The thing in all this is that most informed comment suggests an inability to borrow to fund the deficit as a main stress on the value of sterling. What sort of fucked up world are we in where a currency value is underpinned by borrowing.
If it forces the deficit to close abruptly, brexit, if it ever happens, may have achieved something positive.

Who’s suggesting that? Sure they can borrow at practically free for however much they want. 10 year bond yields have gone through the floor since brexit was announced because there was no chance of a rate hike

I’ll link later if I get time and motivation coinciding.

May may be PM by the end of the day.

Leadsom apparently pulling out at midday.

That would be interesting. Apparently there has been a fair scramble amongst irish government staff to find out about her.

It would be hilarious were Gove to be parachuted back into a run-off.

Maybe Angela Eagle could challenge May for the Tory leadership instead.

Andrea Lightweight has officially quit the Tory leadership race. Operation Get The Lead Out proved surprisingly easy.

The tories want their summer holidays

The Japanese have fired the starter pistol on the post-Brexit fun with this letter they have issued. The Brits seem a bit rattled by it, even if there’s nothing in it that should be coming as a surprise to them.

Japan is an also ran in the world economy. They are pretty irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

140000 jobs is pretty relevant to the brits

Agreed, but the UK can compete for those jobs, realistically where are they going? London is the focal point for EU and Asian banking in Europe, not going to change overnight. The future is China and India which UK are well positioned for.

This brexit thing is going to be volatile. The Welsh have the ducking brass neck to stick their beaks in now, after comprehensively voting out. Scots will vote again soon after article 50 is triggered, and will leave I suspect. Then you have the land boundary issues with NI, and possibly Scotland. It will be very very difficult to leave the common trading area. Unlimited EU immigration is positive in any case.
If Theresa May has anything about her, she will go back to the country on this once this has become apparent, or call a GE and run on that basis.

If the Scots vote out it will kick off up the North again. Not in terms of violence but the Shinners brigade will be all over it.

The scots can’t afford to vote out. Their economy is heavily subsidised by england. Unless they are happy to increase their tax take by 20%

They’ll apply for membership of the EU then and try to claim it back that way. Plus the price of oil won’t stay down forever and they’ll claim all the north Sea stuff.

Not that much of it left
