BREXIT thread

Shure wasn’t he sick before being elected 5 years ago. He was already known to not turn up on a regular basis. Opponents had a go at him about it so the cork folk elected him out of spite. 'You won’t knock our boy, … bouy. ’

May got out in front of Corbyn there predictably. Not sure at times if he is just a political incompetent or poorly advised.

Both.

Criticise Corbyn’s Brexit policy all you want, but Corbyn is calling for No Deal to be specifically ruled out, and May isn’t.

A Prime Minister continuing to entertain the possibilty of no deal with 72 days left is the height of irresponsibilty.

I’m not criticizing that, he got played again this evening though.

Played in what way? Genuinely interested to know, like.

Why are people seriously considering Corbyn as an alternative, when he has been a Euro sceptic all his political life, campaigned against the UK entering the EU, campaigned against all EU treaties that would impact the UK, and ran away and hid when the Brexit referendum was being held? Is he going to magically become some kind of great leader at age 69 with no prior evidence of such, the opposite in fact.

What a strange lot the English and their Anglo-Irish descendants are.

Probably because the UK has become a sort of anarcho-capitalist shithole where the rich have well and truly pulled the ladder up behind them.

It’s not unreasonable to consider somebody who wants to reverse that as a better alternative.

He has made an entire career out of “talking to anyone”. He spends two years saying he wants to talk (reasonable) but then puts this arbitrary thing up.

Today was the punch Corbyn show, despite the fact that Theresa May has managed to be censored by the Commons, suffered a huge vote against her in her own party and led the government to the largest defeat in nearly 100 years. He stands there saying she must go when he himself was roundly voted down by his own party. He is the only reason she is still there and again this evening she is able to turn the narrative on him.

I doubt Corbyn has even considered talking to the SNP or the Liberal Democrats on this.

That’s a terrible way to talk about your motherland.

England is most certainly not a shithole, although there are lots of (mainly Northern) cities that are complete dumps. Strangely enough all the shitholes have Labour councilors and MPs, so the answer to England’s problems is clearly to elect a Labour government and turn the whole place into a shithole.
