BREXIT thread

Thats the problem with the first past the post system. I think that Brussels will take a gamble if things work out in the U.K. like you say. Let them off to fuck and they’ll come crawling back within 2 years will be the attitude in Brussels I’d say. We’ll get a few billion to cushion the blow.
That simpleton Corbyn is a bigger problem imo

Corbyn is going to take on the slum landlords by forcing them to sell their second properties at a discounted price to the tenants. That would go down well with the ballsy guys on tfk.

The EU will fold imo.
Germany is in recession, serious unrest upcoming in southern Europe.
The EU simply cannot afford one of its largest members leaving in this environment.

Italy is bankrupt and is tied into the Euro. Salvini attempted a power grab two weeks ago but blew it. There will be an election there within a year and he will walk it. No great lover of the EU.

Serious unrest? Where?

Wot u on about, they’re going to leave anyway, the only question is with a deal or not.

This is what I think too. I think the Europeans are just sick of them and don’t want to deal with these jokers. I might be wrong.

Upcoming I said. Where Germany goes the EU goes, a German recession means serious southern European poverty. Similar to CA and NE in the US, we keep the place going.

No deal and they might (and be entitled to?) say fuck you to whatever number of tens of billions they are supposed to pay.

When Britain navigates the choppy waters coming in November, and not the tsunami as predicted by Oirish and puppet media all over Europe, the rest of Europe will be considering their own future within this gangster cabal of unelected bureaucrats.
Paddy will shit himself then… but will still blame the Brits probably!

Boris blinked first today. Both sides are now so entrenched in their corners that stuborness could prevail over common sense.

The EU has a chance if it realizes it should be a mere trading block . The move to a superstate is nuts

I think it’s gone beyond that now. Having said that nothing would surprise me at this stage.

Labour have just snookered the Tories.

How? Tories are on average 8-10 points ahead in the latest opinion polls and Remain split will split all over the place

They won’t acquiesce in an election. And one can’t be called without them.

Their electoral system doesn’t allow for vote transfers so in theory they could have a 30 point lead in the polls and still lose. Happened to UKIP a few years back.

Most likely a hung parliament.
The Tories will be wiped out in Scotland and the SNP will pick up most of those seats (let’s say ten).
The Lib dems and the Greens will pick some remain seats in England from Tories and Labour. But will they split the Remain vote between each other and allow Labour and Tories to hold?
On the other hand, the Tories lost a lot of seats in England very marginally to Labour and Lib Dems the last time thanks to May’s ineptitude on things like social care. If they shore up the Brexit vote and push this public spending agenda on cops and education they could win them back.
Not convinced that Brexit Party/UKIP will win any seat. Boris’ seemingly tough stance on “no deal” will see them off. Make Farage a peer and he will fuck off for himself.
Just can’t see Labour voters in the North who are pro Brexit voting Tory.

It will be a long election night. Hopefully the DUP are nowhere near the balance of power.

Threatening no deal when in Government is one thing, actually campaigning on it is another.

Remember most of those Tories who said no way before and who are now in Cabinet have been keeping shtum since last week.
