Hopefully you don’t work in the Dept of Finance. Germany is opposed to the UK leaving the EU for obvious reasons. It weakens their position and puts 85 billion of exports at risk (Germany has a 50 billion trade surplus with the UK).
France are happy to see the UK go as it will strengthen their position within the EU. The risk to them in terms of trade is much smaller.
