To be fair West Ham got relegated just over 20 years ago with a team boasting the likes of Joe Cole, Defoe, Carrick, David James, Sinclair, Di Canio and Kanoute.

Spurs got relegated in 1977 with a team that contained Pat Jennings, Steve Perryman, Willie Young, Glenn Hoddle and Gerry Armstrong.
They were 5 ahead of Chelsea and 6 ahead of City who had a game in hand. Still shows you what can happen even down to the last few games.
Ah yeah but that lead was flimsy enough. Man City were always going to win their game in hand and had a better goal difference so the lead was effectively 2 points with Chelsea (H) still to play. Man United losing an 8 point lead with 6 games to go in 2012 was a bigger shock. Arsenal themselves had an 8 point lead in February 3 years ago.

Joe is a good guy, very cool about the Pep thing. Never talked shit. Was a serious old style keeper there as well. I remember a Bayern v City game in 13, it was like himself and Aguero were a two man team.

Yeah heās a very good lad. Got a rough time of it for the England penalty shoot out thing but he took a gamble and it didnāt work out. He pulled himself back out of the depths then too when it all went to shit and eked out a lovely coda to his career
