Harry Maguire fulfils a valuable function in modern English football in that heâs one of the few players normies have heard of and heâs one of the very few players around now you could easily imagine playing in the 1985 FA Cup final and being interviewed on the bus by Gerald Sinstadt beforehand and laughing and joking. Heâs one of the very few footballers around now you could imagine being the leader of a card school which goes on into the wee hours on a European trip to Bulgaria.
Harry Maguire looks like an old codger and he gives us hope, not hope that we could yet make it as a professional footballer in the English First Division, which isnât going to happen now at the age of 52, but hope that we could have made it had we made more of an effort.
Heâs like a successful version of Al Bundy.

If Chelsea get their skates on thereâs a soft league title there for them this season.
Liverpool are miles off last year and Arsenal have too many fanny players.
