British army paid by the IRFU to spy

@Horsebox?

It’s true.

What’s this, mate?

great thread this

Answer the question

No.

Checkmate

I think a few lads need a time out on this one.

There are long standing links between the IRFU and the British Army so it’s hardly surprising

Who do you think introduced the game to this country. Its a garrison town game.

It isn’t . Soccer is the game of the garrison towns . Rugby more the game of the merchant classes .

@Funtime is there an RNLI link here?

Rubby was always a working class game in Limerick — One of the first men to pioneer the game in Ireland was of landed stock tho and from Limerick - One of the Barrington family whose estate was what’s now Glenstal… the gentry had initial influence on bringing the game to Limerick

The Abbey fishermen set up Abbey RFC — Pig Buyers set up Shannon ----- Young Munster was all working class men also - and people forget that Rubby was the sport of the Christian Brothers also - all poor kids.

Soocer was associated with the garrison originally — Rubby was never a garrison game.

I think it’s a measure of the newly found matureness as a forum the replies so far.

3 years ago we would have been looking at nasty emails from Solicitors landing in @Rocko’s inbox.

Sure didn’t De Valera himself secretly love a bit of rubby every now and then.
