Possibly but you are looking at a case of both your outhalves being involved in every matchday squad as there isn’t even a third choice to sit on the bench or play for the midweek side. None of the other backs would be comfortable there, Halfpenny can kick goals but that is it really. Presume that one of Hook, Priestland or Flood will be one of the first injury replacements in the backs unless Johnny has a change of heart

Lovely to see the Welsh Rugby Union unveil a specially commisioned portrait of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II at the Millennium Stadium yesterday. With the Empire squad containing such a massive Welsh contingent, this is a timely reminder of Wales’s loyalty to the crown. These British Loins will most certainly have Royal backing.
I am considering writing strongly worded letters to the Bulletin and Spectator protesting at the potential for these ruffians to corrupt the genteel nature of society in the colony. I have been advised that many of our womenfolk may experience a mild form of hysteria during this disgraceful adventure. It is said that the touring party will include a number of “supporters” who could well disadvantage the delicate sensibilities of the art loving, philosophical and cultured populations of Sydney and Melbourne towns. I assume they will be engaging in some of the “games” in Brisbane, which will be more suited to the public school tendencies of these hooray henry’s, surely the entire series can be played there?
