British Loins Tour to Australia 2013 - Official Thread

Incredible to think that we’re less than 15 months away from doing it all again. There hasn’t been a victorious tour since Martin Johnson’s men conquered South Africa in 1997. But this time the worm looks to have turned. Australia look beatable and with the recent upturn in British rugby, the Empire will be favourites. There will be incredible support for the Loins with a huge travelling Barmy Army expected to make the trip, augmenting the hundreds of thousands of emigrants already living the dream.

Warren Gatland looks a certainty to be apointed as Commander of the expedition and he’ll be a sure and steady voice of encouragement from behind the trenches.

A 37 man squad if picked today would for me look something like as follows:

Test XV:
15: Halfpenny (Wales)
14: Bowe (Ireland)
13: Davies (Wales)
12: Roberts (Wales)
11: North (Wales)
10: Priestland (Wales)
9: Phillips (Wales)
8: Faletau (Wales)
7: Warburton (Wales)
6: Croft (England)
5: O’Connell (Ireland)
4: Gray (Scotland)
3: Cole (England)
2: Hartley (England)
1: Corbisiero (England)

8 Wales, 4 England, 2 Ireland, 1 Scotland

Second XV:
15: Foden (England)
14: Cuthbert (Wales)
13: Tuilagi (England)
12: Barritt (England)
11: Ashton (England)
10: Farrell (England)
9: Youngs (England)
8: Morgan (England)
7: O’Brien (Ireland)
6: Lydiate (Wales)
5: Evans (Wales)
4: Jones (Wales)
3: Jones (Wales)
2: Best (Ireland)
1: Jenkins (Wales)

Others:
Kearney (Ireland)
Sexton (Ireland)
Murray (Ireland)
Ferris (Ireland)
Lawes (England)
Ross (Ireland)
Ford (Scotland)

Overall squad: 14 Wales, 12 England, 9 Ireland, 2 Scotland

Brian O’Driscoll if fit and back to something approaching his best will still contend for a test spot.

Looking at it from a longer term point of view there are other wild cards such as Danny Cipriani and Danny Care who could come back into contention.

The debates will be fierce with strong and less than impartial opinions from every corner of the British Isles pleading for their men to be chosen to go into battle. There will be differences, but when the troops are chosen, nothing can be more certain than that we will unite behind our boys. Let the long build up commence.

Dungeon.

And fucking fast with it too Rocko.
chop chop.

Well said Sid. I don’t possess much love for rugby football but - damn it - when the pride of our hemisphere is at stake then I’ll be standing four square behind our boys when they march into battle.

Oh FFS, not this shit again, when English people start to think I’m on the same side as them. Fuck off, the sooner this abomination is done away with the better.

where’s your fucking pride?

Fitzy hates when the commonwealth is divided up like this.

I find the whole concept of touring in the modern era to be retarded.

Northern Hemisphere Britian V Southern Hemisphere Britian.

This will be sensational. Hon D’Barmy Army.

My prediction of two Irish starters is now looking a bit optimistic. Two in the squad, maybe.

The following Irish would tour at this stage; Healy, Best, O’Connell, Ferris, O’Brien, Heaslip, Sexton, kearney, Bowe. They’d prob bring BOD too for his experience etc…

After watching a bit of the Australia-Argentina match this morning I’m supremely confident that our boys are going to destroy the Aussies next year. Bring it home, boys, bring it home.

Aussies are definitely weakest of SH at this stage and hopefully will enable a test series win. Lions tours have coincided with some seriously strong opposition in recent years with both Oz and SA coming off world cup wins and NZ being on their between WC peak in 2005.

British sport is on a real high at the moment and a 3-0 series victory would tap into the zeitgeist of the times. There is nothing to fear except fear itself.

+1 it really should be merged with the Commonwealth games . The fact it’s on in Aus is most annoying

If they plan with the Loins they ain’t Irish. Simple

Going back to my original prediction, the likes of Chris Ashton, Manu Tuilagi, Brad Baritt, Owen Farrell, Ben Youngs, Chris Robshaw and Man of the Match Tom Wood must now be considered the "men in possession’ for the prized Test starting spots. That’s in addition to the already all-English front row I predicted, which looks to have been cemented today.

With Sam Warburton’s recent poor run of form, Robshaw now looks the likely captain ahead of next summer’s Antipodean odyessy.

I think we should be quietly confident of the first ever Loins whitewash in a Test series.

I would assume, given the title of the thread, that the goiys with the biggest cocks (in imperial measure) would be automatic choices.

Nice one Sid…

Lots of thickheads here, wha!!

I would hope that there will be a be a lot of naked bodies and a lot of champagne in that dressing room when we clinch a clean sweep of the series.

Rugby football isn’t a sport, it’s about salaries, so there’s no point in it’s discussion on this forum.
Rugby football one of is the preclivities of the likes of the Limerick crowd…Runt, Rtt, Mad…Bandwaggoners alll…
