British Loins Tour to Australia 2013 - Official Thread

o_O

With Corbisiero and O’Connell out for the Lions tomorrow and given how the first test went surely the Aussies are value at 6/4 to get the win tomorrow

Free money is it chewy?

I don’t know, I think there’s a quality mismatch between the two panels and Australia can less afford injuries than the Lions.

No value chewy. They picked O Connor at 10 again. Falau won’t get the same leeway. Deans seems to be a stubborn cunt and always goes against public opinion, even when that opinion is the obvious and sensible choice. Not picking Cooper because of what he said about Australian Rugby is stupid, and clearly a message from his superiors. Cooper of course is completely right. That and this farcical Horwill situation have made me get slightly more interested and hopeful of a Lion whitewash and a couple of hammerings.

Chewy that’s as good as Oz can get, Lions can improve alot more

Yes I concur with my learned friend. Cooper is easily the best creative back available to them. They have a small enough playing pool and can’t afford to ignore an elite guy like that.

Cooper is a massive luxury for a game like this to be honest. Just a focal point for Jon Davies and the rest to flood over at ten, if you could find another position for him def worth having him in the squad at least as he has a serious touch of class about him on a going day. JOC at ten is bizarre really when he has so much to offer elsewhere. V weak out half options really

If I was in Deans shoes I’d have tried to get Giteau back once off for the series. Would have given them massive options and experience.

We’re reaching boiling point. Eyeball to eyeball. This is where greatness looks deep inside itself. The summit of Everest is in sight.

Let’s go Loins.

Best of luck lads.

A frenetic start. Bowe and Beale both solid under high balls. A massive hit by O’Driscoll to set up that penalty. Halfpenny hits the crossbar as Bread of Heaven rings around the Docklands Stadium (formerly known as Colonial Stadium). Ben Youngs has started impressively.

Heave, Loins, heave. Penalty.

Sensational steal by Mako Vunipola from Michael Hooper.

Worrying dominance from the Australian scrum that led to that penalty.

Sexy denied his touch by Beale’s lovely soft hands.

Another scrummaging penalty conceded by the Loins and Lealifano slots home.

Ryan Grant should be given his chance right now to emulate that great Scottish tradition in the Number 1 British Lions shirt - Ian McLauglan, David Sole, Tom Smith.

George North hasn’t been in this game at all yet. This is extremely worrying stuff.

Much, much better from the front row that time.

Magnificent response from Mako and another great kick from Halfpenny.
