British Loins Tour to New Zealand 2017 - Official Thread

His club is not New Ross anymore. Shocking attention to detail Geoff.

He may be aligned by the Leinster branch in a non-playing capacity to Clontarf RFC but this is a prospective British Lion made in New Ross and Horeswood.

A big blow for the British Loins chances of G.D. Laidlaw (Gloucester and Scotland) - he’ll miss the rest of the Five Nations Championship with an ankle injury.

Summoned up the resolution there to watch Laurie Knight’s late try in the 4th test in 1977 that won the test 10-9 for New Zealand and the series 3-1 and denied the British Lions a well deserved share of the series. It doesn’t make for any more pleasant viewing 40 years on. Gut wrenching.

Cheers mate. Two worrying development for British Lions fans and both stem from the dismal Wales performance in Murrayfield on Saturday.

Firstly Rob Howley is the British Lions attack coach. Wales have been utterly abysmal in that department under his stewardship.

Secondly, the captaincy issue has just got trickier again. Alun Wyn Jones looked like he was emerging as front runner but has now probably fatally butchered his chances of the captaincy. Against England in Cardiff, he turned down a few kickable penalties which would have won a game for Wales, that they were the better team in. On Saturday, after he elected to kick for goal, he was overruled by his players. Wales kicked for the corner, but got penalised in the ensuing line out and didn’t put any points on the board again. This is not officer class decision making.

Its gonna be Limericks favourite son, Conor Murray, mate. If he stays fit, its his and his alone.

A proven winner versus NZ .

The problem with the captaincy is that none of the Ireland, England and Scotland captains would be assured of their status as a test starter. The Wales captain, Alun Wyn Jones would have ticked all the boxes up to his brain freezes of the last few games and he was outstanding as stand in captain for the deciding 3rd test in 2013, when the Tom Richards Cup was regained. Sam Warburton was tour captain in 2013, but the grind of captaincy was affecting his form and he’s back to top form again, liberated from the burden of captaincy.

Sexton could be a contender, but there’s the obvious concerns over staying fit. On Saturday, he played like the top out half in the world, that he is.

We’re well served at scrum half. The outstanding Rhys Webb has been one of the few bright lights in a dismal campaign for Wales and it will be quite a dual between Webb and Murray for the Number 9 jersey.

There will be no duel. A fit Murray starts and is captain of this yoke.

I’m worried about this tour. I’m worried about the captaincy issue, as I see few guaranteed test starters, and even fewer guaranteed test starters of officer class.

I expect Samuel Kennedy Warburton will once again lead our troops.

Now that the scotch are roaring again, is this shit going to mainly feature mainly english, irish and whelsh players as usual?

Still think AWJ won’t tour. He was at best the 5th best eligible 2nd row on display at the weekend. At best. Both Scots, Launchbury and Itjoe (albeit from back row) were better. And there are plenty alternatives outside of those too. If he goes it will be a Gatland special. He also admitted after he wanted to take the kicks at goal but the kickers talked him out of it. Piss poor.

Webb is excellent. Will be a great foil for murray

Will be plenty Scots on tour if right is right
Dealing with Gatland though so who knows

Can we leave the Murray/Zebo tape out of this.

What tape?

the one in the private TFK members only section. Message @rocko for the password if you have paid up.

  • there was a third person on the tape but I didn’t recognize her. Also I’m old fashioned and I refer to all recordings of moving images as tape (as in video tape).

I wouldn’t be into porn at all mate let alone involving two men so I will bid you good day

The video @bfree was looking for there last week.
