British Loins Tour to New Zealand 2017 - Official Thread

His mother was a lovely woman.

Shaping up to be Scotlands biggest representation on starting XV in a generation.
If only Telfer or McGeechan could be added to the coaching brains trust, I would feel more confident.

I’m going to watch recordings of Scotland v Italy and France v Wales before I go about finalising my latest selection. I’d be interested to hear the thoughts from knowledgeable observers of the British Lions like @Sidney, @Ashman, @gilgamboa, @Tassotti, @myboyblue and @Tim_Riggins.

P.J. O’Mahony and W.I. Henderson are right back in the frame after their shifts this evening.

If I could find out the Irish tight head prop’s middle name, I’d have him as a definite test starter.

@GeoffreyBoycott and @gilgamboa was schmidt playing mind games tonight I wonder? I ve had question marks over Heaslip

What was the injury Heaslip cried off with? I was at the game and didn’t hear. One thing that did strike me alright was Heaslip is a guy that never gets injured.

“Rolled” ankle

It was flagged from early morning

Fair enough

It’s hard to see how he’s not playing for Ireland.

Marmion is the best 9 in the six nations.
Murray is a donkey.

I will hold fire on my starting XV until tomorrow when I have fully absorbed today’s action. However,
Carlow and the Western Cape will be a bit nervous this evening as their favoured sons, S.K. O’Brien (U.C.D.) and C.J. Stander (Hoër Landbouskool Oakdale ) respectively, had a mixed effort versus the Home Nations. Surely O’Brien’s talent will win through but he needs a big game versus Wasps as Garland will be itching to get his Welsh boys over to New Zealand.

O brien o mahony itojie for me.
Fuck that saffer.

Itoje was very poor today. Lost the head. Gave away the two penalties that Sexton kicked. And should have been yellow carded for an assault on Sexton. Doesn’t have a big match temperament.

My revised British Loins Test team (as of 18/3/17) is as follows:

15 - S.W. Hogg (Hawick, Glasgow & Scotland)
14 - W.B. Williams (Waunarlwydd, Scarlets & Wales)
13 - J.B.A. Joseph (Bath & England)
12 - R. Henshaw (Buccaneers, Leinster & Ireland )
11 - G.P. North (Northampton & Wales)
10 - J.J. Sexton (St Mary’s College, Leinster & Ireland)
9 - G.D. Laidlaw (Gloucester & Scotland)
1 - J.W.G. Marler (Harlequins & England)
2 - K.J. Owens (Llanelli, Scarlets & Wales)
3 - T.P. Furlong (New Ross, Leinster & Ireland)
4 - J.O. Launchbury (Exeter & England)
5 - A.W. Jones (Swansea, Ospreys & Wales)
6 - O.M. Itoje (Saracens & England)
7 - S.K Warburton (Cardiff, Blues & Wales)
8 - V.M.L. Vunipola (Saracens & England)

this wasnt a big match

this was a dead rubber

Just having a look at what has happened so far in the 2017 Super Rugby season and it’s clear that a daunting task awaits our boys this coming New Zealand winter. New Zealand teams are all unbeaten in the four rounds to date, bar games against each other. This tour is going to be the ultimate test of mind and body, but that’s why it will be so special.
