Campese was a great player.
had the skill set to play league
+1 easily.
I’m sure Sir Ian McGeechan is quietly seething too about the shameful treatment of Scotland but he’s too much of a gentleman to kick up a fuss about it.
Not so with Telfer however, a hard as nails, sharp-tongued and committed old style socialist.
Maybe Wales don’t put as much effort into winning friendlies as Ireland?
NZ will win all 3 tests easily,
They won’t be caught on the hop after a load of beer like they were in the friendly showpiece in Chicago.
It reminds me a lot of the furore over the selection of the 1993 British Lions squad to tour New Zealand. Will Carling’s great England team were over the hill, luckily beat France at home, lost in Cardiff and were hammered 17-3 by Ireland in the last game of the season. When the 30 man Lions squad was announced two days after that England hammering in Lansdowne Road, England had 16 representatives, Ireland had 2. Some of those omissions really came back to haunt Sir Ian. The Lions went with a Dad’s Army team against a very average New Zealand side and should have had the series wrapped up in the first two tests but were robbed an awful refereeing decision in the first test in Christchurch. There was nothing left in the tank for the deciding 3rd test in Auckland.
The two Scottish tight head props selected Paul Brunell and Peter Wright both had awful tours and Jason Leonard had to switch over from loose head to lock the scrum. Peter Clohessy should have been selected in the first place. The omission of Simon Geoghegan and Eric Elwood (for Stuart Barnes) were two other glaring omissions. British Lions tours to New Zealand ever since winning in 1971 have been plagued by controversial selections and omissions.
The SRU snubbed the Loins brand by refusing Gatlands request for Gregor. You can’t do that and not expect there to be consequences. I’m disappointed st @GeoffreyBoycott here.
If he hates the Scots that makes him an alright sort in my view.
He hates the micks too. Not sure what he makes of your lot
Kilmallock folk ain’t the worst, to be fair.
Unless you are a swan
Don’t you have anything better to do this morning than make stupid posts?
Sorry for straying into your niche pal
All for social media mate. They all knew beforehand.
They didn’t mate.
You really believe that ?
Why wouldn’t I believe it when it is true. Warburton knew for ages. The rest didn’t, albeit 30 odd of them would have been absolutely certain they were going
Yep. A little too staged for my liking
Oh my God that’s naivety beyond belief on your part Dan
