Just after finishing re-reading John Reason ‘The Victorious Lions’ - the Definitive History of the 1971 Tour of New Zealand. That’s really whetted the appetite for what lies ahead next June.
I hope that the blazers behind the Lions will get Jim Telfer and Sir Ian in to give a few motivational talks in the weeks prior to the tour.
Teller and Sir Ian are a wonderful double act. Teller bringing the borders hardness . That wonderful drive these people have you feel is being utterly eroded by the national drift toward socialism and noxious nationalism . Sir Ian gives a wonderful mix of Yorkshire grit and the parental Scottish influence .
