Have done 4 bets. Tiger woods to win at 10/1. McDowell at 25/1, Coetzee at 150/1 & Leonard at 300/1 all e/w. Hard to look past Woods lads.
Could there not just be one thread for golf?
There are usually two threads for The Open - a cheap and incorrectly-titled knock-off designed to denigrate golf’s most famous prize, started by thedancingbaby (like this one), and a correctly-titled one started by mickee, Manuel or myself, which gives due reverence to the year’s only major.
As everybody knows, there is no such tournament as the “British Open”. It is of course, simply “The Open”.
Fancy an American this year and have backed Dustin, Kuchar and Fowler.
Adam Scott.
Always there or thereabouts and has one now so the monkey is off his back given him shitting it last year. I think that was the Open.

Raymond Crotty usually starts it.

With 7 places he’s very tempting. But I hate his caddy.

I had planned to back him for the last 2 weeks but changed my mind at the last minute this evening because I don’t think he will do 2 in 1 year-watch him walk it.
The key to Open success is hitting fairways. The rough will be near unplayable according to reports on the media. Pick straight drivers lads.
Or no drivers at all
I think there are a couple of bent drivers in the field. Should we avoid them?
Anyway if there’s no wind the state of the rough will be immaterial. These fellas will murder this course playing 5 irons off the tee.

Exactly why I think Woods could walk it.
Preview show is on BBC 2 now.
Harry most of these guys will not be using their drivers…
Rough isn’t as bad here as it has been in previous opens…
Rory mac@28 Jason day @33’s
Furyk @100’s and colsaerts @66’s are a nice price for an outside winner
All e/w.
Coverage starts at 9 o’clock on BBC2 and lasts for 11 hours
Miguel Angel Jiminez leads at -5 after 9, Shane Lowry going well -1 after 8.
Dustin in the clubhouse at -3, great first round for him. Zach Johnson leading the field at -5. Plenty of big guns struggling, Rose +4, McIlroy +6:D, Colsaerts +4. The venerable Sir Nick Faldo is +8 going down the last.
McIlroy +7 going down the last, and it looks like he’ll drop a shot there too. Mark O’Meara has joined Zach Johnson at the top at -5, Mickelson is looking menacing in the group at -3 that also contains Snedeker who is in the clubhouse. Tiger teeing off in 5 mins.
I heard a report stating McIlpube putted from the green into a bunker.
