The labour party have no connection to the working class.
Too late now. The unions put him in there. They should have picked Johnson.
Do you think Che Gurvara’s wealthy background means he couldn’t empathise with the poor?
I don’t give a shit about Che Guevara. He was only a terrorist anyway.
No, but at least he was on the frontline with them when they went to overthrow dictators, something you wouldnt see blair, brown or milliband doing
I’m not a fan of any of those lads. Just think the idea that you can’t be socialist because your parents were rich is nonsense.
@Raymond Crotty Alex Salmond making the point this evening that UKIP received 4 times more coverage in Scotland than the SNP in this election campaign.
@Raymond Crotty Labour’s Sadiq Khan is the latest to come out and criticise your BBC for giving UKIP too much attention. Thoughts please.
The swivel eyed loon makes for good tv.
Cameron is some legend, those euro cunts sent us a bill for two million quid, he stood up in the dail and basically told them to fuck off, that we’ll leave before he pays it, what backbone, what a leader
Labour are in big trouble in Scotland. SNP are wiping the floor with them and the party is in disarray. The leader in Scotland resigned last week. They are so desperate that some of them want Gordon Brown to come back as Scottish Labour leader.
Labour have gambled on relying on their core vote and the inequality on constituency sizes to win the election next year, 35% approx. Right now they are at about 34% and their core vote is melting. UK IP are cutting into it in working class England.
I think a hung parliament is inevitable next year. It will be interesting if Labour need to rely on SNP MPs to gain power in Westminster
@Tassottis and @The Big Cheeses beloved UKIP have doubled their representation at Westminister after winning some by-election tonight
fantastic news, UKIP is an pro Irish party that stands for the rights of the working class, its about time someone stud up for the normal working man
The tories will retake the seat next may. 2900 majority. All they need to keep repeating “vote UKIP, get labour”.
Labour managed to steal some of the headlines with the resignation of a front bencher for tweeting a picture of a salt of the earth’s house festooned with English flags.

Why was that a resignation matter?

Absolute nonsense. Sure the seat was held by socialist Bob Marshall Andrew’s until a few years back. The fact Reckless’ majority was down from 10,000 to 2,900 was because many Labour voters voted Tory to keep out UKIP. The worst thing Tories could say in Rochester is ‘vote UKIP get Labour’ That would only wide the margin. May work elsewhere but certainly not there.
The turnout was only 51%, that strikes me as being very low for a bye-election. That would suggest to me that it is all to play for in that seat at the GE.
I also see the Lib Dems garnered 349 votes:D They are looking at wipe out at the next GE, will they try and get rid of the hapless Nick Clegg before then?
It was seat #271 on the the UKIP target list. But they did have the incumbent standing for them. It will be a very interesting election. All the Tories have to do is play the economy card, fear of UKIP and Milliband’s own goals will take care of the rest.
It probably wasn’t. But the media made it into a “condescending Islington champagne socialist sitting in 3 million pound home looking down on the working class wot made Britain great”, story very quickly. Milliband panicked and shafted her.
