You can install keyloggers on a machine that capture every keystroke and then fire them off to a remote computer somewhere else.
The person at the other end, looks through the data and gets your username and password and then hey presto they are in your account and siphoning off your money.
The likes of a library might be safer than an internet cafe so?

The pc is connected to a modem in the attic room, the wireless signal is very weak downstairs so I thought a second modem in the hall downstairs would give me wireless all over the house?
What you need is a wireless signal booster or repeater. Depending on your model router you might even be able to change the antenna on the back for one with a stronger signal.
