Virgin aren’t in the area I am moving to…anyone with Sky? Or is Eir any good? I won’t be downloading much, mainly streaming… 240mb is surely more than enough?
Im with vodafone. 38 a month unlimited. No problems. We had 8 of us here the other night all dragging out of it without a hitch

Bastard…what provider are you with, mate?
Sky is the Eir network, bro. Next best if Virgin aren’t available. How are they not though? You’re moving to the 2nd biggest city in Ireland, no?
I’m moving to one of the more affluent suburbs and they don’t fucking have it…cunts. Fucking cunts. Bastard cunts.
So Sky is OK? I’ve heard it doesn’t work so well in other parts of the house?
From what I’ve heard Sky isn’t great. But no difference between them and Eir as it is the same network. But better than the rest. We are where we are.
Vodafone it is then.
Vodafone schmodafone
Best to dump Princess & stay in Limerick, kid.
Vodafone, Sky and Eir are all selling the same product. See who has the best offer for you at the moment. If the new place isn’t already connected with fibre broadband you may find it easier to go with Eir, because they’ll need to do the installation anyway so it’s easier to just deal with 1 provider.
Can you see the sky?
This.
You are as well to deal with Eircom directly because at the end of the day theyown the lines and when you have an issue Sky or Vodafone will fob you off by saying its an eircom issue.
You could check and see if Magnet operate in your area? They have a lot of their own lines and gear in the big urban areas.
+1
I’m with Sky and it was a pain in the hole getting it setup. Took about a month from start to finish.
Eircom have to come out first and “turn on the line”. This takes at least a week and they are unaccommodating bastards. They must think no one works. But they don’t give a fuck because you aren’t their customer.
Then some vodafone cunt has to come out and that takes a week as well. They give you a window of more or less half the day when they might arrive, cunts.
If you aren’t working it wouldn’t be too bad, but I had the cunt not show up when he was supposed to, after taking time off for it. I rang up and fucked them out of it and lo and behold there was someone available on the following Saturday after them telling me there were no Saturday slots for a month or some such.
Christ but the customer service in this country is atrocious at times.
Since it was setup in fairness it’s worked fine. Anything over 20mbs is unnessecary from what I can see unless you are downloading a truckload. We have the TV & Broadband package which makes it slightly cheaper, but I’d say I’ll get rid of the channels once the contract is up, there is nothing but shite on 95% of the channels.
Eircom wouldn’t give a fuck whether you were their customer or not.

True.
Customer Service in this country is fucking atrocious. This is directed at 20 year olds but could be directed at most people in this country who work in customer/client facing roles.
Easiest thing to do is ask the neighbours @ChocolateMice
I had a horrible experience with Sky 12 months ago. They’re completely unreliable when it comes to customer service, you can never trust what you’re being told prior to installation and after that it’s impossible to get them to do anything once you’ve been signed up.
I went with eircom/eir/whatever they want to be called now and they are decent. The speeds are decent in our area, could be better mind, and the call out time is quite quick if you’ve any issues .
Haven’t had any dealing with Vodafone but I’ve heard that they operate a similar service to eir.
