Take for example data storage. Think back on all the shite you’ve written online in the past 20 years. Think of all the maintainance that’s needed to retain that shite. That shite has to be regularly backed up, the server has to be cooled etc. Think of all the kwh’s of dirty power thats been used… Christ.
I’d suggest more sustainable posting in, 2020 and into the future. Posts need to be direct, to the point, relevant and factual. Cc @Rocko
How many people now living in lovely houses around Oz that are essentially unsalable due to the fire risk? Like living on a flood plain…will it be possible to get property insurance on an ongoing basis?
Good fuck @Fitzy it’s unbelievable. It’s mad how people will ignore even discussing the causes because it’s so unpalatable. Was chatting to Mrs J’s sister last night. They moved home in August after about 13 years. They’re deeply disturbed by it.
Jesus Christ on a bike. Is there no end to this mind numbing stupidity.
If Australia shut down all its coal mines and stopped exporting it would make no difference to global emissions or climate change. There is enough coal elsewhere on the planet to satisfy consumption for 100 years. Australia produces 500 million tons of coal a year and consumes (burns) 40 million tons. CHINA alone produces 3.5 billion tons a year and burns 2 billion tons.
Unless Greta or someone can convince China, India, the US and every other populated country to stop mining and more importantly burning coal, this is a pissing in the wind argument.
Genuinely hope you stay safe @Fitzy horrible situation to be in.
