Mac,
Can child benefit be paid when you are living abroad and if so can it be backdated?

Were both your kids born here mate?
yes,
we will take this further at pslc 5 a side pitch @8.00 tonight
Ahem… if you applied for it and were getting it before you left for Oz then there should have no reason why the payments should have stopped flowing…
However if you never applied for it then i have no idea about backdating…
Only payable if kids are ordinarily resident in Ireland or EEA country
We received the odd letter checking it and it was stopped once or twice " by mistake" so they seem to be going after it as an area to save money
as far as i know @caoimhaoin was in receipt of unemployment and disability benefit before he moved to “oz” in 2010 when he was boasting on here about owning a business printing flyers in cork city,
@caoimhaoin what did you tell the department of social welfare before you left to “oz” and when did you stop receiving this benefit?

please pm me your email address
Nearly two hours after starting the thread and @Mac has yet to reply. @Fran would have replied within half an hour or your next question would be free
& he was quick enough to reply with a snide comment about 5 a side
I won’t be partaking in any threads that may lead to a member of the board illegally pocketing money at the taxpayers expense
