Calling TreatyStones

I can’t play You Tube videos on Chrome at the moment. You Tube won’t even open for me because “the DNS lookup failed”. This is a case of me being an IT dummy but I recall you told me to amend some setting before to get You Tube videos working. Can you assist please?

I can’t remember exactly.
You could try these steps to flush your DNS Cache

Press Start > Run
Type cmd
Then in the black box that appears type ipconfig/flushdns

See if that resolves it for you

That was unsuccessful, pal. :frowning:

Have you tried cleaning the gunk out of the mouse?

This youtube video explains exactly what you need to do, pal.

@Rocko, do you know how to resolve this worrying issue?

Can you play them on another browser

The fix is simple – go to Tools > Options (or Preferences on a Mac) > Under the Hood and uncheck the setting that says “Use DNS pre-fetching to improve page load performance.” This might increase the loading time of certain pages by a few microseconds but you won’t at least see that misleading error message.

Firefox

I’ll do that tomorrow, pal. Much obliged - thanks.

The solenoid is stuck. A squish of WD40 “may” resolve it.

Can anyone tell me how to download Microsoft office (just word really) for a Macbook for free?

Does it HAVE to be word?

You could try LibreOffice (an offshoot of Open Office). It will work on the Mac has pretty much all the same functionality as Word and will allow you to open and save documents in Word compatible Format.
