I would doubt it
Probably option B so, unless said relative is willing to do the legwork of pricing up with her insurance company to see where the difference is
Hmmmm
Insurance company tell me we can only have one car on the policy at any one time and a second policy would be needed
Mini rant/gripe here and reaching out for any wisdom that may be out there.
We have a 2nd car for the youngsters to learn to drive on. The 2 young ladies have been catered for so far pretty reasonably and fair imho. So what I mean by that is, for Mrs. B and myself typically 3rd party F&T would cost circa €400ish. To add our daughter onto it this year breaks out at an additional €450. So this year it’s €850 for the car insurance, pretty much the usual.
She is doing the test pretty soon so will be a full named driver and we’ll possibly get a refund for this as we did before.
Mossie Jnr is 19. 1st year on permit. Our current company won’t quote him. One other company so far want €2250 to add him, so that’s €1400 for him.
So ok, he’s male, 19 etc etc.
But - he’s on a learner permit. He cannot drive unaccompanied. If he drives unaccompanied and gets caught there’s penalties for both him and me. If he had a tip unaccompanied, he’s not insured, AND the penalties stand.
So he’s/we are discriminated against and ripped off, considering the law on permits and driving, based on he being male.
Your thoughts on a postcard to PO Box itscuntish, Jokeshop, Co. Everywhere
I thought gender based loadings were made illegal a number of years ago?
So did I. Now it’s phrase as ‘young driver’
Even the comparison between your daughter and son is a prime example that its not being implemented
Go back and tell them you’ve 19 year old twins and you’re looking for a quote for each one. Start with your make believe daughter and see what they quote. Then go for Mossie Jnr and if there’s a big difference between the 2 start shouting all about gender discrimination
Didn’t think of that.
Was trying to get him go ThemThey and see could we tie them up in knots
