I have noticed a rattling noise when I engage the biting point clutch of my giloppy in neutral. Doesn’t make any noise when in gear or when moving only in neutral.
Assume it is a bearing or flywheel issue?
Had something similar in my Octavia recently. Ended up being a wheel bearing.
What kind of Yankee dollars we talking?
How can you engage “biting point” in neutral??

I had two wheel bearings done on Octavia at different times. The price you suggest seems about right (150-200 bracket I think)
In both cases, mine made significant noise prior to replacement
Had similar but the rattle etc was a bloody heat shield nut gone and only noticeable while ticking over
