There used to be around five or six in my local town but now I would say it is down to two.

Just don’t like playing it with people I don’t know Clarkey. Same as I’d prefer to go for pints with my mates, I’d also prefer to play poker with my mates than at some tournament.

I’m not sure what cups is, but basically you draw two cards and bet (or pass) that your next card will be in between the two of them. If you win you draw from the pot, if you lose you ad to the pot.
I won a few quid last night, but there was a couple of lads down over a hundred. Came close to disaster when I went into a €30 pot with Ace (high) and a 3. I drew a 2. Only for the fact somebody had taken out half the pot the go before me I would have been rightly stung.

Cups is when Ross robbed a load of money off Joey in the made up card game but then Chandler came and won it all back with the saucer card. Fuck sake runt, get with it :rolleyes:
In Acey-Deuecy at home you have to double the pot if you get one of the cards that you already hold.

tough game alright, many a lad wiped out in college and had to forsake his night in the lodge after hitting the post on a 3-K split. Good times.

Shoot the pot is another good one.
You get three cards and you have to beat the dealers one card with any one of your three cards. You could have three aces and the other suit might be turned up.
25s is a super game.
And any of the variations.
110 being my favourite. I like the idea of a guy being the target.
I also like the inevitable “What did you hit me for you retard!?!” that results.

110 is the best game, but only with 6 good players. Nothing worse than being landed with some half wit as your partner. The kinda tool who leads off with the 5 first day and rapes you of your lone jack.
Its all about subtle communication with your partner, and knowing when to play. Nothing worse then a cunt who is only happy if he gets his trick in each hand even if it means hammering you. Also important to get everybody onside to hammer the high man.
The best thing about cards as well is the different local variations in the rules, meaning there is massive scope for rows to develop with each party believing they are 100% right. A certain poster on here lost the plot one night over some rule and ended up eating the score card
