Anybody on the forum heard of or like the musical stylings of Cathy Davey. Apparantly she plays the likes of Whelan’s/Sugar Club in Dublin, Cyprus Avenue in Cork and the famous Rosin Dubh in Galway. A band/artist playing in these establishments has to be a good sign!! I heard her on Ian Dempsey a few weeks back and thought she was super, great personality and a beautiful down to earth voice.
I’ve heard a couple of her songs Ben but can’t remember them off the top of my head. I’ll give her a listen at the weekend. (Just so you know - I’m an excellent judge of music so it will be worth waiting for my opinion).
I first heard of her when she brought out her first album a couple of years ago. Although I never bought it I remember the publicity shots from the time - she is hot. The first album was a bit of a let down apparently but the new one’s meant to be good. Some pictures please Benjamin?
Donal Dineen deejays there on one night of the week, I can’t remember which night. She was very good on Tony Fenton. He has no idea how to banter with his guests though. Ian Dempsey and Tom Dunne are much more relaxed with interviewing, they just think of it as an informal chat.
