Saw him recently and thought he looked horrendous. I never actually knew that he was sick.

The first of his type to stand up against the party politics bullshit. RIP.

There’ll be a bye election I assume. There is one coming up for Seamus Brennan.

Presume the By-Elections will take place with the European and Council elections later in the year

Forgot about him. Did Gregory support FF in the last election?

Out of interest, FG or Lab were to win the 2 bye elections how would that reflect on overall numbers? Did the 2 (former) PD’s pledge their support to FF? Could the opposition use this as a catalyst for another general election?

I have lost count of their majority now.

I don’t think Gregory supported them.

Fianna Fail haven’t won a bye election in almost 30 years I think.

I picked mickey rooney yesterday . Paisely`s a good call though .

Gregory didn’t support the government. Knew he was sick for a good while, alluded to it on last year’s thread at one stage. Mrs Rock knew him quite well and had plenty of time for him. Mrs Rock likes fuck all politicians so it means he’s sound if nothing else. A workaholic too, and a guy with principles. Sad day for the Dil, hope the people of Dublin Central get a similar voice to replace him.

What constituency is Joe Higgins in?

gregory came across very well anytime i heard him interviewed and had very good reputation. big loss to the dail. the amount of very good serving politicans who have died in last few years is remarkable, to me as someone who doesn’t like very many of them. mo mowlam, robin cook, brennan (one of very few ff politicians who i’d respect) and now gregory.

Dublin West or North-West, not sure of the name of it. Same one as Leo and Harney I think, out by Blanch.
