Celebrity Deaths 2009

Im just wondering if this is coming back in 2009. I think Flano won it last year with Charlton Heston but there was a bit of controversry.

Its pick 5 celebs that you will think will die this year. No illnesses that the celeb has from last year count so the likes of Bobby Robson, Patrick Swayze and Jade Goody cant be picked.

Im going for

 1. Jimmy McGee
 2. Gay Byrne
 3. Kerry Katona
 4. Lindsay Lohan
 5. Scott Hall(Razor Ramon)

Bill Clinton
Roman Abramovich
Bobby Charlton
Michael Lynn
Thatcher

Good to get this going again alright. And just to emphasise Shan’s point, pre-existing illnesses are not allowed. We had sly cunts trying to pick Ronnie Drew last year.

I’ll go for:

 • Jack Charlton.
 • Britney Spears (relapse).
 • Bruce Forsyth.
 • Dame Judi Dench.
 • Michael Jackson.
 1. Paul Hogan
 2. Nancy Reagan
 3. Amy Winehouse
 4. Frank Kelly
 5. Pat Ingoldsby

Kevin Myers
Madonna
Hulk Hogan
Michael O’Leary
Rory O’Hanlon

Al Sharpton
Eamonn Casey
Boy George
Mickey Rooney
Rod Blagojevich

Shan stop burying your head in the sand, Swayze past away last year as well you know, I know it is hard to accept but denial will get you nowhere

That is a fair waste of a pick, Brucey will bury all of us…

i was going to go for Pat Fitz but then realised he isnt a celeb & that I dont want him/think he will die in 09

ill go with micheal jackson

Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi seems to have an existing illness as that is the reason they are trying to have him released. Ditto Ronnie Biggs, so list is

Betty Ford
Karl Malden
Amy Winehouse - Remove
Pete Doherty
Hugh Heffner

Tameka Foster - Add

Johnny Giles
Eamonn Dunphy
Howard Kendall
Bob Dylan
George Hook

Having had no joy last year with either the limerick fued or Obama being assasinated I’m hoping this is the year of the dead commentator.

By the way, isn’t Thatcher already acknowledged as being terminally ill?

NCC, I already picked Wacko Jacko so you’ll have to go again.

Maybe he meant Ben Thatcher? I think you’re right about Margaret though. It’s still allowed as a guess but the cause of death needs to be from a new illness, condition or accident and not one directly or indirectly caused by a situation in place as at 31 December 2008 - the example we’ve given in the past is that if you die from pneumonia when you have AIDS already then unless the pneumonia was caused by falling asleep in the snow following a drug binge* the pneumonia will be considered as a direct result of the immune system deficiency caused by AIDS and manifesting itself in HIV.

 • difficult ruling if a guy with AIDS goes mad on his prescribed drugs and gets wasted and falls asleep in the snow and dies of pneumonia. The pneumonia wasn’t caused from his being HIV positive but he would not have had access to the same pharmaceuticals if he didn’t have AIDS in the first place.

Anyway I’ll be going for:

Gay Byrne
Pope Benedict XVI
Peter Allis
Brendan Bowyer
Brian Friel

Albert Reynolds

Bandage went for Big Jack HB.

Also, would Billo be allowed based on his brain operation last year? Presume it would have to be a new illness?

Is Albert Reynolds not sick as well?

Or was that just an excuse to get out of the Mahon tribunal?

By the way I am still not partaking in this on moral grounds. Mind you as the day progresses I may need a break from my planning!

I knew there was someone who complained about last year’s competition on moral grounds but I couldn’t recall who it was!

dodged the tribuunal due to problems with ‘cognitive awareness’, far from terminally ill i would say.

Good old Albert.

I would say that is very easy to diagnose. Not as if it is a wishy washy makey up ‘condition’ to get him out of stuck or anything.

He lay the seeds for the peace process don’t you know.
