Tom OâDonnell, one half of Tom & Paschal.
US jazz trumpeter Donald Byrd has died aged 80. Reports say he was a modest and quiet man but I felt he often blew his own trumpet.
Ah thatâs very sad. Tom and Paschal did a fantastic version of Tell me a story before I go to bed.
I suppose our thoughts should be with Paschal at this sad time.

Great video Balbec.
Was tempted to put it into the Smashing Tunes thread but I have not been in there since the changeover.
Sean Og OâCeallachain RIP
What age was he?
89
Ah no, that is sad news. I remember as a child listening to him giving the GAA results every Sunday night on Radio One (in a time before mobiles, i-phones, Facebook and Twitter when radio was the main source of results). RIP.
He was born in Newcastlewest, Co Limerick. Has relations in NCW, Ballyhahill, Rathkeale and Croom.
Ah fuck off
country & western(and sextape) star mindy mcready has killed herself on the same spot where her boyfriend killed himself a month ago. tragic story as shes leaving 2 kids behind.

Has it been officially confirmed as suicide?
If not then RTE would be idiotic to be reporting it any other way as theyâd leave themselves wide open to a legal action and a massive waste of taxpayer money.

I doubt sheâs in any condition to be taking legal action. It was confirmed as suicide on twitter earlier anyway.

well, shes confirmed dead, widely reported as from a self inflicted gunshot to the head, which would seriously limit her litigation options
Not her familyâs though. Golden rule for for avoiding a defamation or libel case is to leave it out.
And âconfirmed on Twitterâ is about as reliable as saying âI heard in Coppers at 4amâ.
