True enough.
Surprised at you Thrawneen with such a stereotypical view of the Pogues.
Their, and Chevron’s, contribution was much more than the greatest Christmas song ever.
Terrible news. The Radiators Faithful Departed is one of the best Irish songs ever written.

Didn’t mean it like that Farmer, it’s just one of their achievements, of which they had MANY.
Just thought I’d mention it terms of a double whammy of “first punk single” and “best Xmas tune”. Which, as a fellow musician, I would give my left (and probably right) bollock for.
And Phil was an absolute gent from what I can see from the docus and interviews.
Thats terrible news. The first I ever heard of Phil Chevron was when the brother got the single of Faithful Departed, an utterly brilliant piece of music. He is a huge, huge loss. Ghostown is one of the great albums and what Chevron contributed to the Pogues gave them credibility and strength.
RIP Phil Chevron
Another remarkable song
Mark Brandon Read, AKA Chopper Read, died today after a long battle with liver cancer
RIP, he was just a normal bloke.
Keithy seems to have done himself a mischief
RIP Chop.
Get those bloody ears off.

Snooker great Jackie Rea
Lou Reed.
This is not a perfect day.
I hope his corpse will lie on a coffin lined with velvet, underground.

Took a walk on the wild side.
Shit.
That makes me feel old.
RIP Lou
The main songwriter on the greatest album ever for me.
RIP Lou.
What age was he?
71
I am looking forward to Bono’s tribute immensely
