Celebrity Deaths - 2016

Mad too thinking back… Christy’s son would have us transfixed with stories of sun holidays, skiing and high powered sports cars. We sat there in typical roaster fashion with our mouths open in awe. I remember him explaining the different factors of sun cream to me one day and I not having a clue what he was on about.

A different Ireland.

That 1989 Ryder Cup actually ended in a 14-14 draw. His only other Ryder Cup appearance was in 1975, when the US won. He never featured on a winning Ryder Cup team.

there are plenty of disadvantaged kids just like you were in limerick who took the opportunity to play golf in the municipal golf course rathbane. there is nothing wrong with golf and its bizarre that you are denying any knowledge of one of irelands most famous sportsmen from your childhood.

a lot like your lack of interest interest in hurling id say you chose to have fuck all to do with it due to your busy lidfestyle of climbing in and out of peoples back windows, throwing eggs at cars and stealing bicycles

Speak of the ass and he’s sure to pass

Look, pal… it is as clear as day what you were trying to say… I bet fellow Wexican @bandage is disgusted with your upbringing.

Sir Robert Mugabe
Jimmy Carter
Christy O’Connor Senior
Norbert “Nobby” Stiles
Padraig Flynn

Rathbane didn’t open until 1998, kid… way too late for me… I was doing time by then.

I just googled him - MBE :joy:

Clearly it was to everybody but you. You should have spent more time learning English than looking for hugs off your mother.

I didn’t have to go looking for hugs, my mother loved me and dispensed them regularly. Your parents inflicted golf and sports awards shows on you as a 10 year old… that’s abuse right there.

Free will dude, free will when it came to the TV

Car radio was a different story however. I preferred falling in line to walking from Bruff to Wexford after a league match.

@Brimmer_Bradley- i’ll take your final word on it- Is Christy O’Connor a celeb?

Of course he is.
I was reared in an industrial school where the only form of entertainment was sexual abuse and the only forms of media was getting a look out over the wall of the school,
and I heard of him so therefore he is a celeb.

Your endorsement means a lot to me buddy:sleepy::sleepy:
I’m welling up here.

You’ve been the go to guy on celeb matters on here for a good while now, pal.

Eamonn D’Arcy is very tearful here on the news.

Edit: FAO of @ChocolateMice, Eamonn D’Arcy is another Irish golfer of O’Connor’s era.
